BROCBURN FESTIVAL
Community Festival raising the profile of the Brockburn, Raft Race and Floating Sculptures made by local school children.
Working together with a wide range of local groups and organisations to orchestrate a community festival in an unusual context. The Brockburn, that runs alongside Silverburn shopping centre is heavily littered and the surrounding area considered unsafe and uncared for.
The Brockburn Festival was the first in a series of collaborative initiates to clear up and highlight the areas potential for nature, recreation and health. As well as contributing to the festival design we worked with local school children to create large floating sculptures for the burn and invited festival visitors to make their own raft for a race in the water - declaring their thoughts about the future of the burn and encouraging attention to the water itself.
