AS GREATER POLLOK AIR (PHASE 1), Glasgow, 2019
CROOKSTON BOGEY CART RACE
Crookston Bogey Cart Race, was one of a series of projects to activate underused green space in Greater Pollok with young people through acts of creativity and play.
Working with primary schools and youth groups, children developed their own designs for their carts, worked together with us to construct and decorate them reflecting themes connected to their local community and to make their own track markers. We negotiated permission and strimmed a track through the long grass at Crookston Castle to undertake the race, to which families were invited to join. The pupils were all awarded edible medal biscuits at the end prepared by ourselves.
Project undertaken during my role as AIR for Greater Pollok, Glasgow (Creative Communities Initiative - Phase 1.) In Collaboration with artist Dan Sambo and supported by artists Ruby Pester and Owen Clarke. 2019
