LIFE UNDER LOCK DOWN
2020, AIR TONIC ARTS, EDINBURGH & LOTHIANS HEALTH TRUST
in collaboration with Dan Sambo
Artist Residency undertaken in our own home, during the national lockdown with a new born baby.
In collaboration with artist / photographer, Dan Sambo, we made installations and sculptures for our newly born daughter, using everyday objects that had their own stories linking to absent family members. Constructed with the aid of bluetack, tape, pegs and elastic bands - these play pieces made sounds and movements developmentally appropriate for infants. The installations were used to create a set of photographic prints and films.
During the residency we were also fortunate to have a dialogue with pediatric professionals at Edinburgh Royal to further contextualise the impact the pandemic was having on infants (and families).

The art work was exhibited in group shows; online, at the Edinburgh Royal Hospital and at Merz Gallery (Sanqhaur). Some of the artwork now forms part of the permanent collection at the Edinburgh Royal Hospital.
