MOdels of resilience
As GREATER POLLOK A.I.R. (PHASE 2), GLASGOW, 2021 - 22
Social sculpture project developed through lockdown. Kits containing clay, tools, instructions and inspiration were delivered to the doorsteps of 100 households in Greater Pollok.
Through support at a distance people were invited to create a ceramic sculpture that celebrated local resilience through the pandemic. All the sculptures were then collected, photographed in a studio and enlarged prints of the photos were exhibited in public places to form a 2D sculpture trail, with accompanying map. A selection of 30 or the original sculptures now form part of the Open Museum exhibition in the Pollok Civic Realm.
Project was undertaken during my role as AIR for Greater Pollok, Glasgow (Creative Communities Initiative - Phase 2.) Supported by artists Dan Sambo, Ruby Pester and Roos Dijkhuizen. 2021.
